Originally written by William Steig's in his 1990 book Shrek and based on the DreamWorks hit movie, Shrek the Musical tells the story of an ugly green ogre and his struggle to live in a land of fairy tales.

    Unfortunately, for Shrek, the King of Duloc dumps all of the fairy tale creatures on his swamp. Now in order for shrek to continue to live alone, he must embark on a dangerous quest to save the princess and return her to Duloc.
